AI Product Description Generator
Write persuasive product descriptions that highlight benefits and convert browsers into buyers.
What a product description has to do
A shopper who reaches your product page has already decided they are interested. The description's job is not to sell the category — it is to answer the three questions standing between them and the basket: is this the right thing, is it right for me, and can I trust what it says.
- Open with the thing itself, not an adjective. "Hand-stitched canvas tote, 14 litres" beats "Beautiful premium bag".
- Name the buyer. A description written for everyone reads as written for nobody.
- Give one specific a competitor cannot copy — the material, the origin, the measurement, the person who makes it.
- Answer the objection you get most often in the shop. That is usually sizing, care or delivery.
- Close with what to do next, in plain words.
Short and long are two different jobs
This tool returns both because they are not the same sentence at different lengths. The short description is what appears in a collection grid, a search result and your meta description — it has to work with no other context and survive being cut. The long one is the body of the product page, read by someone already scrolling, where detail is welcome.
In Shopify the short line belongs in the SEO meta description and the long one in the product description field. In WooCommerce they map exactly to "Product short description" and the main editor. On a marketplace listing, the short line is your lead and the long one becomes your bullets.
Before and after
Before: "Great quality tote bag. Perfect for everyday use. Buy now!" — three claims, none of them checkable, none of them about this bag.
After: "A 14-litre tote cut from 12oz organic canvas and hand-stitched in Porto. The base is doubled, so it holds a laptop and a week's market shop without sagging. Machine washable at 30 °. Made in a run of 200." — same length, but every sentence carries a fact a shopper can act on.
What to change before you publish
- Replace anything generic with a number, a material or a place.
- Delete any claim you could not defend to a customer standing in front of you.
- Vary the copy between variants of the same product — forty identical paragraphs is the single most common reason product pages go unindexed.
- Read the first line on its own. That is all most shoppers will see.
Frequently asked questions
Is the product description generator free?
Yes — 100% free, no signup, no limit. Generates a short description (1-2 sentences) and a long description (1-2 paragraphs) per product. Paid liflio plans (from €29/month) integrate with Shopify/WooCommerce for catalog-wide generation and bulk import.
Will the descriptions help with SEO?
Yes — the generator produces descriptions with natural keyword integration, benefit-focused language, and structured short/long pairs (perfect for product listings + meta descriptions). Pair with the Hashtag Generator for social discoverability.
Can I use this for Shopify, WooCommerce, or Amazon?
Yes — descriptions are platform-agnostic. Copy/paste into Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, eBay, Etsy, or any storefront. For bulk catalog generation directly synced to Shopify or WooCommerce, upgrade to a paid plan.
Does it support multiple audience tones?
Yes. Pick your audience (luxury, eco-conscious, parents, professionals, etc.) and style preset (informative, persuasive, story-driven, technical). Output adapts vocabulary and rhythm accordingly.
Can I use it for Amazon listings?
Yes. Use the short description as the lead line a shopper reads first, and split the long one into your bullet points — one claim per bullet, most specific first. Amazon rejects promotional language like "best seller" or "free shipping" in listing copy, so edit those out before you paste.
Will Google penalise a description I did not write by hand?
Google's guidance is about whether a page is helpful, not about who typed it. What gets product pages filtered out is thin or duplicated copy — the same paragraph across forty variants of one item. Change the specifics for each product and you are on the right side of that line, which is exactly what the fields here are for.
Can it do my whole catalogue at once?
Not this page — it writes one product at a time and needs no account. Catalogue-wide generation, synced back to Shopify or WooCommerce, is part of the paid plans from €29/month.
Which languages can it write in?
This free tool writes in the language of the page you are on: English here, French on the French version. Paid plans generate in the language set on your account, so a French shop's catalogue comes out in French.
